From 12 until 20 of April 2008 in Moscow will take place The III Moscow H.Neuhaus Festival of Young Pianists.
The opening of the Festival will take place on the 12 of April, 2008 in the Small Hall of Moscow Conservatory, the awarding of the winners and the concert of the laureates will take place on the 20 of April 2008 in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory.
The III Moscow H.Neuhaus Festival of Young Pianists will take place on the 15-18 of April 2008 in the Rachmaninoff Hall of Moscow Conservatory.
The III Moscow H.Neuhaus Festival of Young Pianists is open to pianists born after 1 of April 1989.
There are three age categories:
The participant's age category is determined on the day of the beginning of the Festival.
In participant's repertoire of the Festival should be included works of one or more composers whose music was performed the most by H.Neuhaus - Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Schumann, Debussy and Scriabin.
The programm of the participants may last no longer than:
Necessary documents (application form, two recent color photographs 9x13, videotape for preliminary stage and photocopy of birth sertificate) should be received between 1 of December 2007 and 31 of January 2008.
The Festival will begin with preliminary stage which will take place between 1 - 20 of February 2008. The jury will judge the participants by listening to the videotapes. The recording may include any repertoire (duration - no longer than 10 - 15 minutes).
Those participants who passed the preliminary stage will be informed not later than 1 of March 2008.
As the end the jury will announce the names of 6 winners of the III Moscow H.Neuhaus Festival of Young Pianists. All the winners will receive the Diploma of Laureate and the Memorable Mark of the Festival. The teachers of the winners of the Festival will receive the Diploma and the Memorable Mark as well.
The main prize of the Festival is a 7-day trip to France for all winners together (October – November 2008).
The organizers and members of jury of the Festival will establish several special prizes and diplomas for the impressive performances and the most artistic achievements in the separate works of program.
Besides that, all the winners - Laureates of the Festival - will take part in concerts dedicated to Heinrich Neuhaus, which is arranging in 2008-2009 concert season.
There are widely known performers and professors, pupils of Heinrich Neuhaus, who are invited to work in the jury of the Festival:
Vera Gornostayeva (Chairman), Alexey Ljubimov, Alexander Nasedkin, Natalija Fomina, Grigory Gordon and user.
All the expense for taking part in the qualifying round and the Festival will be paid by the performers or the schools they represent.
